Elucidate is a RegTech/RiskTech start-up based in Berlin building an innovative SaaS-based solution for Financial Crime risk management. Our flagship platform, the Elucidate FinCrime Index (the EFI) provides quantifiable and defensible financial crime risk metrics to financial institutions, highlighting risks as they emerge. Our goal is to identify and minimize their financial crime risk exposures, specifically focusing on money laundering, terror financing, and corruption risks. Think of us as the Moody’s of financial crime risk. The EFI is the first step towards a more interconnected and internationalized financial system actively working against criminals.

As Head of Sales (m/f/d) you will be responsible for building up our sales organization. With your knowledge from previously establishing successful sales functions in early-stage startups, you will lead and coach our team in best sales practices. You understand the intricacies of the finance world and will thus, be evangelizing our product.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Architecting our global sales strategy; selling to new markets, building into new markets, strategizing next steps, negotiating and closing complex deals across enterprise and mid-market sales
  • Leading and growing a team of Account Executives, Sales Ops Managers and SDRs
  • Taking ownership of all plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals
  • Developing of our overall sales plan by overseeing forecasts and KPI reporting 
  • Building processes and funneling for manual top-down reachout, onboarding, activation, and expansion
  • Leadership and development of our driven sales team

What you need to succeed

  • You have extensive experience within sales including management of SDR and AE functions and a proven track record of exceeding quota, ideally within the financial services industry and/or a startup environment
  • You consider yourself highly entrepreneurial: you are self-motivated to build and sell
  • You bring and share a wealth of knowledge in sales principles and practices; enjoy mentoring and coaching others on these topics to teams, on a cross-functional level
  • You have analytical and quantitative skills; a strong ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • You are a problem solver; a solutions-oriented team player and thrive in small companies working closely with the management team in a fast-paced work environment
  • You ideally have prior experience working in an early-stage startup environment, and familiarity with the financial sector would be a plus, but not required
  • You have excellent English language communication skills – any other language skills are a plus!
